New Homes in Ealing
Mike Kirk was commissioned by the London Borough of Ealing to bid for grant funding under the new HCA programme for local authority new build. A successful bid was made in July 2009 and three schemes were awarded funding of £5.7millions for 70 new homes. As a result of this bid Ealing also achieved partner status as part of the National Affordable Housing Programme.
Mike was commissioned to deliver this programme and successfully bid for more funding in Round 2 in January 2010.
In July 2011, Mike successfully secured funding through the 2011-15 Affordable Housing Programme working with Ealing Council. This programme will deliver 126 new homes including 50 in a key regeneration scheme with a £3.7 million grant from the HCA.
These programmes have resulted in Mike working again with PCKO Architects, and one project, Eastcote Lane, Northolt is especially innovative and sustainable linking into a CHP system in an adjoining leisure centre which results in two substantial benefits. Firstly it will reduce household energy bills, and secondly will reduce the carbon footprint for both projects. Eastcote Lane has delivered 36 new homes.
As well as working for Ealing Council Mike Kirk Consulting was appointed by Brent Council to bid for Round 2 of the HCA local authority new build programme, and then to deliver the successful bid.
